Morges, a city located on the shores of Lake Geneva, is the capital of the district of the same name, which is the western limit of the Lausanne agglomeration, also called the Lausanne-Morges agglomeration. The city has about 15’500 inhabitants, which makes it the eighth largest in the canton of Vaud, in terms of population. The population of its urban area reaches nearly 48’000 inhabitants. Morges stands out mainly because of its highly developed cultural offer and its history, which began nearly 5,000 years ago on the banks of the lake.
